90% OF THEM DIE. ARE YOU GOING TO JUST STAND THERE?
Let's not waste time.
Every year, over 350,000 people suffer a sudden cardiac arrest outside of a hospital.
Do you know the survival rate? It’s less than 10%.
That means 90% of them die. They die in their homes, at the grocery store, on the sidewalk, or at their kid's soccer game.
They die because the person standing right next to them, the person who sees them collapse—does absolutely nothing.
They freeze. They panic. They wait for someone else to take charge. They wait for professionals who are still minutes away.
And in a cardiac arrest, every single minute that ticks by, the chance of survival drops by 10%.
By the time the ambulance arrives, it’s often too late.
HERE’S THE PART YOU DON’T WANT TO HEAR
You're probably thinking this happens to strangers. You're wrong.
Over 70% of all out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen at HOME.
The person who collapses isn't a stranger. It’s your spouse. Your parent. Your child. Your best friend.
And right now, you are not prepared.
When they look to you with panicked eyes before they collapse, you will be just another bystander watching them die.
"BUT I'M AFRAID! I'LL MAKE IT WORSE!"
Let's get this straight. This is the "in your face" part.
Your excuses are killing people.
- "I'm afraid I'll break their ribs!"
- THE TRUTH: You probably will. And it doesn't matter. A broken rib will heal. Being dead won't. THEIR HEART HAS STOPPED. They are already clinically dead. You cannot make it worse.
- "I don't want to do mouth-to-mouth on a stranger!"
- THE TRUTH: You don't have to! Hands-Only CPR (pushing hard and fast in the center of the chest) is proven to be incredibly effective and is the standard for bystanders. Your squeamishness is not an excuse.
- "I'll be sued if I mess up!"
- THE TRUTH: No, you won't. All 50 states have Good Samaritan Laws that protect people who act in good faith to help someone in an emergency. The law is on your side.
- "I'm not a doctor! I'll wait for the professionals."
- THE TRUTH: You are their only hope. You aren't supposed to be a doctor. You are supposed to be a bridge. Your only job is to keep blood moving to their brain until help arrives.
THE ULTIMATE 1-2 PUNCH: CPR + AED
This isn't complicated. It's a two-step plan.
1. CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
This is you, pushing on the chest. You are being their heart. You are manually pumping blood to their brain and vital organs, keeping them viable. You are literally buying them time.
2. AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
This is the magic box that restarts the heart. And it’s so simple, a child could use it.
You see those boxes on the wall in airports, gyms, and offices? They are built for YOU, not for doctors.
You open it. It talks to you. It tells you exactly what to do.
"Remove clothing from patient's chest."
"Apply pads."
"Do not touch patient. Analyzing."
"Shock advised. Press the flashing orange button."
You cannot mess this up. The machine won't let you shock someone who doesn't need it. It does all the work. All you have to do is find it and turn it on.
Using CPR and an AED can increase the chance of survival from 10% to over 40% (and in some cases, way higher).
Think about that. You, with 10 minutes of training, can quadruple someone's chance of living.
STOP BEING A BYSTANDER.
The only "wrong" move in a cardiac arrest is doing nothing.

Get trained. Learn CPR. Find the AEDs in your office, your gym, and your kid's school.
Be the reason a family doesn't have a funeral next week.
